Misbah completes ‘half century’ of test matches as captain

Christchurch : Pakistan team’s captain Misbah ul Haq became the first Pakistani and the third Asian captain who has led 50 test matches as a captain.

Christchurch test is the 50th test of Misbah ul Haq as a captain, he has already left Imran Khan behind,  who led 48 test matches as a captain, and has already become the captain, who led maximum test matches, in Pakistan.

Indian captain Mahendar Dhoni and Srilankan captain Arjuna Ranatonga has led more than 50 test matches.

Pakistan won 24/48 test matches under the captaincy of Misbah ul Haq, lost 14 while 11 were tied. He has the triumph ratio of more than 50 percent. Pakistan was ranked sixth when Misbah was handed over captaincy in 2010.

For the first time Pakistan ranked first in test cricket with Misbah as its captain.Misbah is the first Asian captain to have won 10 test series .

During his six years of captaincy, he played 49 test matches, with the average of 54.61 and scored 3823 runs. He also scored eight centuries and 32 half centuries.
