LAHORE: A constitutional petition has been filed in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry seeking directions to stop lockdown of Islamabad.
The petition was filed by Watan Party through Barrister Zafar Ullah submitting that Panama leaks case was pending before the Apex Court but Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran khan had announced to shut down Islamabad.
He said that the step was against fundamental rights including freedom to move around, trade and others. He said that the step would made the state machinery dysfunctional and it was a revolt against the state which itself was punishable under Article 6. -APP
