Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday termed joint-sitting of parliament as ‘nishastan, guftan, barkhastaan or they came, they talked and they adjourned’.
In a statement issued here, PTI central information secretary, Naeemul Haq, stuck to his guns, saying PTI’s decision to boycott the joint sitting was right as ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has turned the parliament into a debating club.
“The Prime Minister who has no moral ground to rule the country after the Panama leaks, along with hand-picked National Assembly Speaker, has made fun of the parliament…he the PM has lied to the parliament and his stance on Indian aggression has always been dubious,” he added.
He said the half-hearted speech of the Prime Minister would neither help in resolving the long-standing dispute of Kashmir nor is it enough to counter India’s hostility towards Pakistan.
He said that despite all-out support by all political parties in the recently held All-Party Conference (APC), the Prime Minister was not ready to disclose the details of his businesses in India, which reflects how sincere he is about Kashmir cause.
Haq also said that if the Prime Minister had been serious about the future and other issues faced by the country, he would have presented himself for accountability in the wake of the Panama Leaks, which is a charge-sheet against him.
“The stubbornness of the Prime Minister has spoiled the image of the country and no country is ready to take Nawaz Sahrif serious, as the world sees what he has done in the wake of Panama Leaks,” he added.
The PTI secretary information said that business venture between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian steel baron Sajjan Jindal indicates how capable he is to fight the issue of Kashmir and confront India for what it is doing against innocent people of Kashmir who are struggling for their right to self-determination.
