QUETTA: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Quetta after a deadly terrorists attack on a police training college in the provincial capital, Aaj News reported.
He is accompanied by Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar and Adviser on National Security Nasser Janjua. Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and other provincial ministers received the prime minister at the Quetta Airport.
The Prime Minister is expected to visit those injured in the Quetta blast.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has postponed all of his engagements in Islamabad and decided to pay a visit to Quetta. During his visit, he will inquire about the health of those wounded in Quetta terrorist attack.
The Prime Minister will chair a high-level meeting in Quetta with regards to law and order situation.
On Monday night, unknown armed militants wearing suicide vests stormed a Pakistani police academy, killing at least 61 people and wounding 122, in one of the deadliest extremist attacks this year.
Three gunmen from a Pakistani Taliban-linked group burst into the sprawling academy, targeting sleeping quarters that are home to some 700 recruits, sending terrified young men fleeing.
