ISLAMABAD: Leading state of SAARC countries Nepal denied to hold 19TH SAARC conference as current circumstances are not suitable for it, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, after attack on Occupied Kashmir’s Uri sector on 18th September tensions between India and Pakistan have raised to new levels. Due to this, India has announced not to attend 19th SAARC conference in Pakistan. Along with this, other members of SAARC Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and Nepal also denied to attend the conference.
In a statement released by Nepal, it is said that “Current circumstance are suitable for SAARC conference”. Attack on Uri sector is also condemned in the statement reportedly.
Whereas, member countries of SAARC Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Maldives likely to attend a conference in India.
Also, Indian media has claimed that a ‘minus one conference’ to be held in India as well in which the only country Pakistan will not attend it.
Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri lanka, and Maldives are member countries and 19th SAARC conference was to be held in Pakistan on 15th and 16th November.
