ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government announced that mobile phone services would be suspended across the country on Muharram 9, 10, Aaj News reported.
Federal government has taken the decision to suspend mobile service on Muharram 9th and 10th due to security concerns. Mobile phone service will remain suspended on all the routes of Muharram processions.
According to Home Secretary Sindh, the cellular services will remain suspended in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawab Shah, Jacobabad, Sikarpur, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu and Mirpur Khas.
According to Home Secretary Siraj Ahmed, the services will remain suspended in 12 districts of the province. The home secretary said that cellular services will be suspended in Kohat, Hangu, Peshawar, and D I Khan, Mansehra, Haripur, Mardan, and Nowshera, Lucky Marwat, Bannu, Tank and Abbotabad.
The home secretary said that the decision has been taken due to security concerns.
