BARAMULLAH: Suspected Militants have attacked an Indian army camp in occupied Kashmir Indian media reports.
According to Indian media, unknown armed men attacked the 46 Rashtriya Rifles camp, first hurling grenades and then opening fire. Heavy exchange of fire was on.
Indian media claimed that, the attackers were immediately confronted by security forces. Two Border Security Force personnel are reportedly injured in the exchange.
Indian media claims that two of the attackers have been neutralized. While there are reports that five Indian soldiers sustained injuries in the attack.
“Terrorists opened fire on an army camp in Baramulla town,” Colonel Rajesh Kalia told AFP.
“An exchange of fire between soldiers and attackers is still on,” he said.
The Army camp is located in the old town of Baramulla.
Indian army’s quick response team has reached the army camp and cordoned of the area.
The attack comes two weeks after unknown militants attacked an army camp in Uri, killing 19 soldiers.
