BAKU: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that we want to run state but some elements want to shut down federal capital, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, while talking to media, Prime Minister said,”Pakistan Tehreek -i- Insaaf (PTI) wants to shutdown Islamabad but federal capital will remain open on 30th October.”
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif further said India intentionally heated up the Line of Control to divert the world attention from the grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
He was talking to Speaker Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov during his visit to the parliament in Baku on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said Indian forces’ recent atrocities in held Kashmir have claimed lives of one hundred and twelve people, blinded over two hundred people and wounded thousands of others.
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan values Azerbijan’s support for the Kashmir cause. He said the two countries’ mutual support on Kashmir and Nagorno Karabakh reflects strong bilateral relationship.
He said democracy is functional in both the countries and inter-parliamentary and leadership level exchanges of visits will enhance cooperation in economic, defence and other sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, the Azerbaijan Parliament Speaker expressed the confidence that the Prime Minister’s visit will help promote bilateral relationship. He also briefed the prime minister about the proceedings of the parliament.
Earlier, the Prime Minister visited the martyrs’ monument Fakhri Khiyaban in Baku to pay tribute to those who laid their lives for freedom of Azerbaijan. He also laid wreath on the monument.
Meanwhile, talking to Pakistani journalists informally in Baku, he said India will have to be serious in talks for resolving the outstanding issues.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan is a peace-loving country, and believes in peaceful neighborhood. He said war is no solution to any issue.
He said India blamed Pakistan for the Uri attack without having any proof to prove it.
To a question, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said power generation projects are being implemented at a fast pace.
He said the projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be completed speedily, and ten thousand megawatts of electricity will be added to the national grid by 2018.
He said the prices of electricity and durations of power outages have been reduced.
To another question, the Prime Minister said his government set a new tradition accepting mandate of all the political parties in the general elections.
He said some elements want to shut down the country, whereas the government is engaged to further accelerate the process of development. -Radio Pakistan/Aaj News
