ISLAMABAD: An official prosecutor of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been appointed in Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq murder case, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, the government has named Waseem Ranjha as FIA prosecutor after remaining dormant for six months. The murder trial will begin from October 20 at the anti-terrorism court of Rawalpindi. The court extended the Judicial remand of the suspects Khalid Shamim, Moazzam Ali and Mohsin Ali.
Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected bail plea of suspect Moazzam Ali saying Moazzam Ali has been accused of facilitating suspects Khalid Shamim, Mohsin Ali and Kashif Kamran for assassinating Imran Farooq due to which, he cannot be granted bail.
Dr. Imran Farooq, a founding member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was murdered in September 2010 outside his home in Green Lane, Edgware, in north London, while returning to home from work place.
