RAHIMA YAR KHAN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he didn’t come into power for his own benefit, it is duty of the government to take care of all the segments of the society, Aaj News reported.
PM Nawaz Sharif was speaking at the launching ceremony of the program in Punjab at Rahim Yar Khan on Friday where he announced the construction of 50 new hospitals. He said that Health Programme is gradually being expanded to cover the entire country.
The Prime Minister said health of the poor is of prime concern to the Government and necessary resources would be allocated for the programme.
He said the programme has already begun in many districts and today two hundred and fifty thousand families are being registered in Rahim Yar Khan.
Mian Nawaz Sharif said the programme is directed at poorest of the poor who cannot afford medical treatment. He said it is duty of the government to take care of this segment of the society.
The Prime Minister regretted that in the past projects worth billions of rupees were announced that had no direct bearing on the common man. He said it is incumbent upon rulers to spend money on welfare of the people especially the disadvantaged ones.
He also vowed to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan soon. PM also talked about roads and motorways and said, “We began constructing motorways and now we will connect Karachi and Balochistan. Road networks are so important, they reduce distances, and promote development.”
