KASUR: At least three people were killed and 27 injured when a freight train rammed into a passenger van near Landa Phattak near Pattoki in Kasur on Friday morning., Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, the incident took place early morning at 4:00 am, when passenger bus was passing through Lunda Phatak which was opened at that time. Injured have been shifted to the hospitals, where 15 injured are said to be injured, rescue sources said.
Railway authorities have formed a committee to investigate the incident, railway sources said.
Following the accident angry protesters burned tires and blocked the railway track.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the accident.
