Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said on Sunday that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has entered into full implementation with rapid progress and construction of six early harvest projects worth $13.8 billion.
After welcoming the participants of 20 Cars Rally reached in federal capital from China on the eve of 65th anniversary of Pakistan China diplomatic ties, Chinese Ambassador stated “western part passage to Gwadar is definitely part of the CPEC”.
Tens of thousands local people would get job opportunities from CPEC, he said adding that Chinese President visit in 2013 gave a new vision to the region.
Chinese Ambassador said silk route would open new areas of progress through openness and win-win situation for both the countries by linking Pakistan and China through one road.
Ancient silk route is now being transformed into cooperation, trade, business and would advance the civilisation by openness, added the Ambassador and described the car rally’s participants as true advocate of silk route.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid said since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan, the two countries have developed cooperation in all aspects.
The Minister also recounted his recent visit to China as well as in the first Silk Road International cultural Expo.
Pervez Rashid said Pak-China friendship is deepest than oceans and sweetest than honey and is based on mutual trust and shared interests.
The Minister added the CPEC will usher a news era of development in the region and especially play a very important role in the economic development of Pakistan.
The CPEC is a network of railways, roads, energy projects as well as basic infrastructure for Pakistan and would further enhance cultural ties between the two countries.
Pervez Rashid the project would further enhance contacts between the people of Pakistan and China.
Deputy Governor of Chinese province Ningxia also spoke on the occasion. The speeches were followed by cultural shows from both sides etc. -Business Recorder
