20 shops in Karachi’s Empress market looted despite foolproof security

KARACHI: At least 20 shops that were locked and sealed by police in Saddar’s Empress Market were looted early Monday morning despite foolproof security, Aaj News reported. 

According to the reports,  the market was sealed by police last night to ensure foolproof security for Muharram procession, however, the robbers managed to break into the shops last night.

Robbers broke the shops’ locks and stole cash as well as various items from the shops. The incident has created a feeling of insecurity among local shopkeepers of the area.

Similar incidents were reported in this area in past as well, sources said.
