LAHORE: Samjhauta Express train service has been resumed few hours after its suspension by the Indian authorities on Monday, Aaj News reported.
According to local media reports, Samjhauta Express train service was suspended in India for one day due to the protests staged by Indian extremists. However, India and Pakistan denied the claim.
Authorities in India had earlier tightened security on Samjhota Express after a high alert was issued following the terror attack on an army base in Uri sector of Indian-held Kashmir.
However, services have been resumed and the trans-border Samjhauta Express left from Lahore station for Attari at 11:00 am today (Monday) with 138 passengers onboard. Security has been tightened at the Attari Check post.
