Khawaja Izhar released after brief detention

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s arrested leader Khuwaja Izhar ul Hasan has been released after brief detention, Aaj News reported.

According to reports, Izhar was released under section B-4972.

Izhar after his release said that, he feels mentally tormented after hearing the news of his mother suffering a heart attack. He blame the the events that unfolded today that worsen the health condition of his mother.

Izhar was first taken to Gadap town police station but after the suspension of SSP Rao Anwar he was then taken to police head quarters.

Earlier, MQM-P’s chief Sattar claimed that SSP Malir Rao Anwar arrested Hasan from his house without any arrest warrant.

“Hasan was arrested in broad daylight from his residence without any warrant”.

According to Sattar Rao Anwar claimed to have a warrant but failed to show when inquired.

Sattar condemned the ‘arrest’, saying Hasan was not wanted in any criminal case.

“Hasan’s abrupt arrest caused uproar within the MQM-P supporters present at the scene”.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has condemned the detention of the Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan of MQM.

Talking to media in Karachi on Friday, he said SSP Malir Rao Anwaar has been suspended and an inquiry will be conducted against him for the arrest of Khawaja Izharul Hassan.
