Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reached New York on Sunday night where he will address the United Nations General Assembly’s annual session on Wednesday.
Aaj News reported here that Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi and ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani received Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the airport.
First lady Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is also accompanying the Prime Minister. The UN General Assembly begins its 71st session in New York on Monday.
Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary told reporters in New York that Prime Minister will address the 71st session of General Assembly on Wednesday and draw the world attention towards state terrorism and unabated violations of human rights by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and also discuss the issue with UNSG Ban Ki moon. -Business Recorder
