Farewell match: Ajmal rejects PCB’s offer

LAHORE: Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has rejected Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s farewell match offer claiming he has proved his fitness and form in a domestic tournament, Aaj News reported.

As reported, Ajmal took 20 wickets in a National T20 tournament held in Multan and Rawalpindi but PCB has decided to send him home and was organizing a farewell match for him.

In an interview, Ajmal said,”I have worked hard on my bowling action and I am ready to perform in ODIs and T20 matches if chance given again as Pakistan has not any off-spinner bowler at domestic level currently”.

It is pertinent to mention that in 2014, Ajmal was restricted to bowl in international matches due to suspicious bowling action.
