ISLAMABAD: The Turkish Foreign Minister on Tuesday said his government was taking “all the necessary legal measures” against the plotters of last month’s failed coup.
Mevlut Cavusoglu said all those responsible for the coup, which left 271 people dead, would be brought to justice.
He was speaking at a news conference after meeting his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad.
The Turkish government believes the July 15 coup was hatched by Fethullah Gulen – a cleric who lives in exile in Pennsylvania.
It has demanded Gulen’s extradition from the US but the American government is asking for evidence of Gulen’s involvement and says the extradition process must be allowed to run its course. -APP
