KARACHI: A five-member delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led by Sindh president. Ismail Rahu, Saturday visited the hunger strike camp of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) outside the Karachi Press Club.
The members of the delegation met with MQM leaders Dr. Farooq Sattar, Aaamir Khan, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan and others.
The PML-N delegation included Senator Salim Zia and Nihal Hashmi, MPAs Shafi Jamote and Sohrat Thebo.
Later, talking to media, Ismail Rahu said that he along with other members of the PML-N delegation have come here to express solidarity with the MQM hunger strikers.
`We have come here on the directive of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’, Rahu said adding that the apprehensions and issues of the MQM would be listened to.
Rahu said that we are politicians and find out solution to the issues through dialogue.
He further stated that resorting to protest is one’s the democratic right.
Rahu said that solutions to the problems would be found out by taking them in to confidence.
He said that the Karachi Operation is being carried out with consensus of all the political parties.
The Karachi Operation has restored peace in the metropolis, he added.
Senator Nihal Hashmi said on the occasion that we are political people and politicians keep meeting.
He said we have talked to MQM leadership and the matters would be resolved through dialogue. –APP
