Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Raheel called on Commander Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan General John William Nicolson and sought latter’s help in the recovery of crew of the helicopter of Punjab government that made an emergency landing in Logar province of Afghanistan on Thursday.
Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Army Chief asked Commander RSM in Afghanistan for safe recovery of the staff of helicopter taken hostage by Taliban in Logar province.
General Nicolson assured the army chief all possible assistance in this regard. The helicopter owned by the Punjab government was on its way to Russia via Uzbekistan for maintenance when it had to make a crash landing in Logar province due to a technical fault.
Meanwhile, Afghan government and ANA authorities have also been contacted for necessary assistance in the recovery of the crew members. -INP
