Akhter vows to resolve issues of the metropolis

KARACHI: Newly elected mayor of Karachi from  Mutahida Qoumi Movement (MQM), Waseem Akhtar addressed to the ceremony after taking oath today in Karachi at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (Polo Ground) , Aaj News reported. 

According to reports, administer Karachi presented a traditional key to the newly elected mayor.

While addressing to the ceremony Akhtar said, “Thank you citizens of Karachi for electing and letting me avail an opportunity to work for the biggest city of Pakistan”.

Akhtar said,” I am aware of the issues that people are facing and I am determine to resolve all the issues of the metropolis. We have had issue previously and we have resolved them too. Since people from different races and sects are living here, we have to work together for the betterment of the city”.

Akhtar said,” I have decided to filed a petition regarding bail so that court would release me and I would be able to fulfill my responsibilities more easily.

“Sindh has suffered a lot”, Akhtar added. He has invited chief minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah to work together for the betterment of the city.

Akhter also invited Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to work along with him and resolving the issues at all levels.

Lastly, he thanked MQM party workers, media persons, business men and diplomats who have attended the oath taking ceremony.
