KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Abdul Qadir Patel on Tuesday has presented himself for arrest before Boat Basin Police Station, Aaj News reported
Police who had been ordered to arrest Abdul Qadir Patel, who allegedly fled away after his bale plea was rejected by court. Patel is also facing charges under Dr Asim case.
As soon as the news about Patel fleeing away broke out Interior Minister of Sindh Sohail Anwar Sayal ordered the concerned authorities to apprehend Patel, after which Patel himself surrender claiming that he did not flee away from the scene.
Patel in an explanation said that, the entrance of the court was close as he arrived late for the hearing of the case. After standing there for some time he left along with his lawyer, says Patel.
Earlier, Police arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Waseem Akhtar, Rauf Siddiqui, and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Anis Qaimkhani on Tuesday after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) rejected their bail plea in relations with providing treatment to terrorist and ordered their arrest.
ATC earlier rejected the pre arrest bail plea of the political leaders.
Akhtar, Siddiqui and Kaimkhani have been shifted to jail in an armored vehicle.
