KARACHI: K-Electric teams across Karachi have been beefed-up and asked to stay on alert in order to address any query or fault as part of its preparedness for the expected rain.
Teams have been put on stand-by in all areas of the city. The power utility has also urged its customers to remain careful and keep safety in mind during the rain, says a statement on Tuesday.
It said that K-Electric has once again cautioned the people of Karachi to stay away from downed power lines and not stand under PMTs or near billboards and electricity poles during the rain. Broken wires or poles should not be touched.
KE’s command and control centre is actively monitoring the situation 24/7 and will remain on standby during the incoming rain-spell.
Spokesperson KE added that for any complaint, customers can call on 118 or 021-99000, or register their respective complaint via SMS on 8119.
`We have also strengthened staff presence at our helplines. KE also has alternate platforms where customers can register their complaints via Facebook and Twitter. Consumers can also register to receive SMS updates via 8119′, it was further pointed out. -APP
