World leaders continued to convey best wishes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and prayed for his speedy recovery from his heart surgery.
In a message to the Prime Minister, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon wished him a speedy recovery following his heart surgery.
“Reports that the procedure was successful are very encouraging. Allow me to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for your support,” he stated, adding he attaches great importance to the partnership between Pakistan the United Nations, and looks forward to continuing our work together.
British Prime Minister David Cameron in his message stated; “I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell and undergoing treatment in London…Please accept my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to good health from your operation, and I look forward to our next meeting”.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also sent flowers along with a message for the Prime Minister. “All good wishes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his speedy recovery,” the message reads.
Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli also wished early recovery and good health for the Prime Minister after his recent surgery. British National Security Adviser Mark Lyall Grant, in a separate message, conveyed his best wishes for good health and speedy recovery of the Prime Minister.
Earlier on Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond also sent separate messages to the Prime Minister and wished him speedy recovery.
