Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday said there was no link between the Panama Papers issue and the illness of her father Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“One who is clean, does not need to take any stress…, Panama Leaks issue is a conspiracy and some people are trying to exaggerate it,” she said while talking to a private television channel.
Maryam said despite the fact that the Prime Minister’s name was not mentioned in the Panama Papers, the reaction of some people to this issue was beyond comprehension.
She said the Sharif family has already presented themselves before the country’s highest judicial forum – Supreme Court – for accountability.
Maryam reiterated that she had no property abroad and was just a trustee of her brothers’ property and was not getting any benefit out of that.
To a question, she said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had full faith in his party and cabinet members and there was no constitutional bar on him to give charge to anyone before leaving for treatment abroad.
