Sindh budget 2016-17: total outlay of Rs.869b announced

KARACHI: Provincial Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the budget focuses on generation of revenue and employment and agriculture development in province,

Provincial Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presented the budget for next financial year with total outlay of 869.12 billion rupess in Sindh assembley. He said the total revenue expenditure is estimated to grow by 13.8 percent to 572.76 billion rupees in the next financial year.

He said that, the receipts of province for the financial year 2016-17 with 17.61 percent increase are estimated 854.50 billion rupees.

An amount of 160.7 billion rupees has been earmarked for education sector, which is 28 percent of the total budget, while for health sector 61.75 billion rupees have been allocated. The budget has 225 billion rupees for Annual Development Program for next financial year.

The Provincial Finance Minister also announced ten percent adhoc relief allowance on running basic pay after merging adhoc allowances of 2013 and 2014 for all the government employees in the province.

He further said that, fifty thousand new jobs will be created in police, health, education and other departments in coming financial year. –Radio Pakistan
