Seven must have food items at your Iftar table


WEB DESK: Ramadan is here, and yes it is largely about Ibadah and Zikr, one cannot deny the need of full iftar table. It is absolutely needed that we have a glass full of juice or water, plate full of food, right in front of us just before the call for prayer. 

Here we give you seven essential food items that are must haves at your iftar:

1. DATES

Dates and Ramadan are meant to be together. Everyone knows it. So it is obvious to have it as first thing in iftar.

2. SHARBAT

With the scorching heat and throats parched, if you’re anything like the rest of Pakistani population, you’d gulp down at least four to five glasses of water or juice, that has to be there at your iftar table. An absolute essential.

3. PAKORAY

Pakoray are a must for iftar. No iftar table is complete without this snack and there is no way ti should be.

4. FRUIT CHAAT

Lots of fruits chopped up in one single bowl? What else can we ask for? Let it be chatpati chaat or a creamy one, fruit chat is mandatory for any iftar table.

5. DAHI BARAY

Sometimes sweet, and sometimes sour, dahi baray is a real treat for Ramadan.

6. CHANA CHAAT

No dish in the world can trump the classical “chatkharydaar” combination of squashy chickpeas, crunchy onions, crispy papri, loads of masala, fresh yogurt and fiery chutney.

7. JALEBI
