Not against Pakistans inclusion in NSG, says Indian FM

NEW DEHLI: Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday said that India is not against Pakistan’s inclusion in nuclear supplier group (NSG), Aaj news reported.

Swaraj while addressing a press conference said that, China has no issue with India’s inclusion in NSG. However China has showed its concern over the process of inclusion.

She further said that, India is not against the inclusion of Pakistan or any other country if they are able to meet the merit. Adding to this she said that, India has so far contacted 23 countries, out of which only 2 or 3 countries have argue over India’s membership in NSG.

Indian FM hoped that India will be the member of NSG by the end of year 2016.

On related note Indian foreign secretary S.J Shankar unofficially visited China after China opposed to India’s inclusion in NSG group in previous NSG sessions.

Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup affirmed Shankar’s visit to China. Swarup said that, matter of NSG and mutual interest were discussed in the visit.
