Acting President Raza Rabbani has said Pakistan will soon succeed in eradicating polio.
He was talking to a delegation of Rotary International representatives of “End Polio Now” Campaign led by International Polio Plus Committee Chairman Michael K. McGovern in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Acting President assured Rotary of total commitment and sustained efforts from the federal and provincial governments to eliminate the polio menace.
Raza Rabbani said Operation Zarb-e-Azb has helped to extend the outreach for eradication of polio due to which additional six hundred thousand children have been administered polio drops.
International Polio Plus Committee Chairman Michael K. McGovern said his organisation is supporting Pakistan not only for eradication of polio but also in increasing literacy and providing clean drinking water to people.
They also administered polio drops to 600,000 children. -INP
