ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday maintained its earlier order regarding ban on Sheesha smoking and directed all four provincial and federal governments to submit implementation reports regarding steps taken to stop sheesha smoking in the country.
The division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case regarding ban on sheesha smoking.
The counsel for the federation told the court that the government had already closed sheesha smoking centers after the orders.
At this Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked sheesha smoking was continuous in the country.
He directed to inform the court about the steps taken by the governments to stop sheesha smoking.
The court directed the provinces and federation to take steps to initiate awareness campaign to stop sheesha smoking, cigarette smoking and use of Gutka.
The court also directed to submit reports in this regard. Later, hearing of the case was adjourned for an indefinite period.
