Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that any leader has to be answerable to public in a democratic system.
He expressed these views in a meeting with National Press Club (NPC) members at his residence Bani Gala on Sunday.
He said that media had awakened political consciousness among new generation and due to social media it had been impossible to deceive public.
He said that Pakistan had faced crisis as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif refused to resign. He said that elections had been conducted but lack of democratic behaviour lead to the absence of real sense of democracy in the country.
He said that poor nations faced devastation as their leaders had been involved in money laundering.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would have never won the elections without election commission’s support; the party had bribed individuals from every sphere of life including police, administration, journalists and judges.
He said that they had every right to storm the streets if they did not get justice. Imran said that Nawaz would be blamed if democracy gets derailed, the country cannot function without a chief executive and his party would raise the very issue in Parliament over Prime Minister’s absence. –Business Recorder
