PM signed original budget documents received: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar said Tuesday that the original budget documents duly signed by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in London on Monday have been received here on Tuesday.

Addressing press conference here, he said that according to the article 83 of the constitution of Pakistan, the budgetary documents are to be signed by the Prime Minister, so this constitutional obligation has been fulfilled.

He said that the prime minister, through video link, had chaired the meeting of National Economic Council (NEC) and Cabinet on Monday to give approval to the budget proposals for the fiscal year 2016-17.

He said that despite being on medication to go through heart surgery, the Prime Minister chaired the meeting, which shows his commitment to the nation.

He said that with the Grace of Allah, the open heart surgery of Prime Minister has been successful and he has been now shifted to ICU.
