QUETTA: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to invite Afghanistan cricket team to play in Quetta to revive international cricket in the city.
PCB Chairman Sheharyar Khan, while addressing a press conference at Bugti Cricket Stadium here on Thursday said that Afghanistan has shown consent to send their cricket team to Pakistan.
“We are considering arranging matches here in Quetta to provide locals an opportunity to watch international cricket”.
The PCB would also establish a cricket academy in Quetta and Peshawar to hunt talented cricketers, he said.
He also urged baloch youth to get education to become better players. “A cricketer must be educated as it is need of the hour.”
The chairman said the Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri had been requested to construct new cricket stadiums in Quetta and other cities of the province.– APP
