‘Pakistan’s atomic program aimed at ensuring South Asia peace’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said it is ‘our foremost duty to be prepared to protect our country from internal and external threats’.
Sharif, who is in London for open heart surgery, released a message on Youm-e-Takbeer today, saying ‘Pakistan’s nuclear programme was evolved to make the homeland unbeatable so that no one can dare to cast an evil eye on it’.
The statement further quoted him as saying ‘Pakistan’s atomic program is aimed at ensuring peace in South Asia and maintaining balance of power in the region.
He said now Pakistan will have to strengthen its economy, expressing the hope that the nation will prove its mettle in this filed as well. –Radio Pakistan
