WEB DESK: Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan would raise the issue of hanging of Jamaat-e-Islami leaders in Bangladesh with UN human rights council as well as other countries.
Speaking in Senate on Friday, he regretted the executions of political opponents by the BD government saying the Islamic World as well as world community is expressing their concerns over it.
Sartaj Aziz said the international community should take notice of this human rights violation in Bangladesh. He said these hangings are in sheer violation of agreement between Pakistan, India and Bangladesh in 1974.
Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq said that the Muslim countries should get together and prepare a plan to get the executions of political opponents in BD stopped.
Earlier, the members appreciated Turkey for withdrawing its envoy from Bangladesh and said that Pakistan should adopt a strong stance on the matter.
Responding to a calling attention notice about the brutal killing of a young girl in Abbottabad on the orders of an illegal Jirga, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said the federal and provincial governments have taken strict notice of this despicable incident.- radio.gov.pk
