WEB DESK: A parliamentary panel on Wednesday was informed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) received 30,000 complaints against mega corruption in 2015.
Special Oversight Committee for monitoring the implementation of recommendation adopted by the House on October 6, 2015 met under the chairmanship of Senator Muhammad Javed Abbasi.
The officials of NAB briefed the committee members that 663 inquiries were held and 329 were chosen for further investigations in 2015 out of total complaints.
The NAB investigates cases involving embezzlements of Rs 1 million and above. The bureau is also investigating Secretary Finance Balochistan for his alleged involvement in corrupt practices.
The committee expressed its utter displeasure over non-appearance of Secretary Interior in the meeting. – Business Recorder
