LHC moved against Prime Minister

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Monday approached the Lahore High Court challenging the delegation of powers of Prime Minister to Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

PAT through its counsel Ashtiaq Chaudhary stated that the constitution does not allow PM to transfer his powers to any minister to look after the affairs of state.

The petitioner therefore prayed to the court to direct Speaker National Assembly to convene a meeting to elect a new leader of the house.

The petitioner also asked the court to restrain Dar from exercising powers of the PM till decision on the petition. –Business Recorder
