KARACHI: Funeral prayers for the slain traffic police personnel, Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Shakeel, were offered here on Sunday at the Gardens Police Headquarters.
On the occasion, a police contingent presented the `Shaheed Salam’.
Inspector General Police Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, Director General Rangers Sindh, Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar, senior officers, relatives, friends and area people attended the “Namaz-e-Janaza” in a large number.
The IGP offered condolences to the members of the bereaved families and said that such dastardly attacks cannot lower the morale of the police.
Rich tributes were paid to the slain policemen. Sindh Home Department announced compensation and incentives in vogue for the families of the deceased.- APP

KARACHI: Two traffic police officers have been gunned down in Karachi near Ayesha Manzil on Saturday, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, two police men were fired while they were on their duty. Eye witness claimed that two terrorists, wearing helmets opened fire on the officers.
They both were shifted to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. Martyred police men were identified as Shakeel and Ikram.
Meanwhile, police and rangers reached the spot and started investigation.
