QUETTA: The court has handed over Finance secretary Balochistan Mushtaq Raisani to National Accountability bureau for 14 days physical remand, Aaj News reported.
NAB officials raided the house of Raisani and confiscated jewelry, prize bonds, gold biscuits and currency worth of 60 crore rupees.
Raisani was presented before the court in an armored car. The hearing was headed by judicial magistrate Muhammad Haneef.
Prosecutor from NAB pleaded before the court to grant the remand of Raisani. Court accepted the plea and grant 14 days of remand.
Raisani who is accused of embezzlement in local government funds and PSDP schemes was arrested yesterday by Balochistan NAB officials.
Personnel from NAB also raided the civil secretariat and department of finance. All the records from the department have been seized by NAB personnel.
Chief Secretary Balochistan has suspended Raisani from his post.
