ISLAMABAD: A 12- member parliamentary committee working to finalize terms of reference for investigating Panama Papers leaks on Thursday decided to review in detail the ToRs already proposed by the government and opposition, Aaj news reported.
The second meeting of the committee held in Islamabad Thursday reviewed the proposed ToRs.
According to sources, the opposition panel rejected the government ToRs, stressing the government side to initiate working by reviewing the opposition’s ToRs first.
The government panel on this held a separate meeting in the chamber of Law Minister Zahid Hamid and later joined the meeting.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said agreement has been reached on the preamble of the ToRs, adding the committee will formally start framing the ToRs from tomorrow.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Federal Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique expressed confidence the opposition and the government will definitely reach consensus on the ToRs.
