COAS signs death warrants of Safoora Goth, Sabeen killers

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday signed death warrants of five more ‘hardcore terrorists’.

According to an ISPR statement issued today, the convicts were involved in Safoora bus attack, Saleh Masjid bomb blast and killing of well known social worker Sabeen Mahmud.

The ISPR statement said that the convicts Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin, Tahir Hussain Minhas alias Sain  Asad-ur-Rehman alias Malik, Hafiz Nasir alias Yasir and Mohammad Azhar Ishrat alias Majid admitted their crimes before the trail court.

The Interior Ministry in December, 2015, had approved the transfer of 18 cases, including the Safoora Goth massacre and the Sabeen Mahmud murder to military courts.
