‘Azhar’ depicted life of ban Indian Cricketer

WEB DESK: The forthcoming Indian movie “Azhar” had been depicted on life of Former Indian Cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. The ups and downs of the life of Mohammad Azhar has been pictured in the movie.

“I took a lot of convincing. When I read the script, I had to change a lot and the makers also agreed to the changes,” exclaimed Azharuddin to the reporter of Indian Express at a press conference for the film’s promotion.

Although he denied the reports which accused that Sangeeta Bijlani, who was his former wife and an Indian actress, is offended on his portrayal in the movie.

“I don’t think so. Even I have read the reports but I don’t know how true are they,” he said.

“Azhar” will narrate the highs and lows of Azharuddin’s life as the captain of the Indian cricket team for most of the 1990s, being tainted by a match-fixing scandal in 2000, and getting banned for life.

“Azhar” stars Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri, Lara Dutta among others and Emran Hashmi will be seen in the main role.

“Azhar” is directed by Tony D’Souza, jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM Motion Pictures, will be released on Friday. –
