WEB DESK: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Senha has reportedly signed on to play a Karachi-based journalist in a film based on a Pakistani novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me
Based on Saba Imtiaz’s novel, Noor will go on floor before the year ends and is said to release by 2017, reports BizAsia.
Saba Imtiaz’s novel revolves around a female journalist Aisha and her work struggles in Karachi.
The book tells you, that it might be difficult to be a journalist as it is (with long work hours and meager salary), but if you happen to pursue this profession in Karachi then you might as well just call it a day (or life).
Talking about the director, Box Office India reported a source stating, “Sunhil Sippy has been working in the ad world for a very long time and was planning his directorial feature.”
“He had developed a film which is an adaptation of Saba Imtiaz’s novel ‘Karachi, You’re Killing Me!'(2014). The film will be based in Pakistan and is titled ‘Noor’,” they went on to add.
Sonakshi Sinha, is always in search of unique scripts and unconventional roles and during her quest she found the very women-centric script of ‘Karachi You’re Killing Me’.
The actress is currently shooting for Abhinay Deo’s Force 2 and will be seen on screen in Akira that is all set to release on September 23 this year.
