ISLAMABAD: The federal government has constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) over allegations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s getting funding from RAW and money laundering. The team would submit report in a week.
The interior ministry has issued notification in this regard. The team would be headed by Head of FIA Anti-Terrorism Wing Mazhar-ul-Haq Kaka Khel.
One member of the team would be from Intelligence Bureau and two members from Inter Services Intelligence, while Raja Tahir Iqbal of Sindh Rangers would also be a member of the team. The team would review Sarfraz Merchant’s statement to forward the investigation.
The JIT would be able to take service of any officer from province or federation.
