WEB DESK: The revival of Pakistani film and drama industry is well and truly underway, and it will not be wrong to say that the drama industry is getting all the attention it deserves from national as well as overseas.
Come to think of it, the drama industry has always marked a true milestone, as early in the 50’s. Some of the classics are still popular and they surely have reasons to be renown these days too.
1. ALPHA BRAVO CHARLIE
Alpha Bravo Charlie is one of the best productions Pakistani cinema on aired. The plot of this show was simple as well as complex, and while many might argue that the show aimed at propagating the armed forces in a positive light, it was a landmark show that many people from the 90s still remember.
2. DHOOP KINARAY
Greys Anatomy who? Long before Dr. Meredith Grey came was introduced to the world, came Dr. Zoya Ali Khan. The complex lives of the doctors portrayed a very interesting angle to the plot and their struggle to overcome it.
Tanhaaiyan was so well received that the producers planned to make a sequel of it, 30 or so years later. With a star-studded cast – Shehnaz Sheikh, Marina Khan, Badar Khalil, Azra Sherwani, Asif Raza Mir, Behroze Sabzwari, Qazi Wajid, Jamshed Ansari – and a beautifully written screenplay by the legendary Haseena Moin, this show struck all the right chords for anyone who watched it
4. AANGAN TEHRA
Aangan tehra was truly a master piece of Anwar Maqsood. Still remembered as one of the best productions, the stars did a remarkable job to make it unbelievably successful. It sure is a classic and would still be watched and loved all over the world!
5. AINAK WALA JIN
This show was a classic hit amongst adults and children alike during the 1990s. The fantasy-comedy series was exquisitely well-crafted, and it created memorable characters like Hamoon Jadugar, Zakoota Jin, Bill Batori and the likes which are cherished by 90s-kids even today.
