The leaders of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) while lambasting senior leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said the PTI chief Imran Khan was trying to protect corrupt elements in the party so that “he can keep enjoying helicopter of Jahangir Khan Tareen”.
PML-N leaders Daniyal Aziz and Talal Chaudhry while talking to media persons here on Wednesday said the PTI chief wanted to foment anarchy in the country by disrupting the current pace of progress and prosperity.
They said that Imran in past had termed the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) corrupt and the representatives of status quo but now when the Prime Minister of Pakistan has announced to form a judicial commission under the supervision of Chief Justice Supreme Court to investigate the Panama Papers PTI was trying to save the skin of corrupt leadership by forming alliance with PPP and PML-Q.
They said that due to “illogical conduct” of PTI chief no former judge was ready to become the head of inquiry commission on the issue of Panama Leaks. Talal Chaudhry said that PML-Q, PPP and PTI are forming alliance in order to hide their corruption.
Aziz said that International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), which unearthed the Panama Papers containing details of offshore companies, has removed the name of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from all its news stories.
He said that Jahangir Tareen in 1980 was a lecturer and an owner of a bike but now he is an owner of many mills and is using helicopter for local travel. He said the PTI was avoiding the issue of foreign funding and the party could be dissolved under Section 3.
He said a hearing should be held in this regard. He said that court, administration and the ECP were doing nothing on this issue.
Daniyal Aziz said that Imran Khan should answer the nation about his allegation of “35 punctures” were. He said that leaders of the PTI were evasive after furnishing fake affidavits.
He asked why Imran would not appear before the court if he considered himself a true person and responded to allegations leveled against him. He said that his lies had been exposed before the nation. Daniyal said he does not know why the independent institutions remained silent over Imran’s confession that he had received money through hundi.
