ISLAMABAD: The interim challan in slain Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq murder case has been submitted the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) , in which Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief, two other senior party leaders including Muhammad Anwar and Iftikhar Hussain have been declared as ‘masterminds’ in the case, Aaj News reported.
The interim challan consisted on 16 pages submitted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prosecutor also declared Mohsin Ali Syed, Khalid Shamim and Moazzam Ali as accused in the case.
According to the reports, the challan declared Mohsin Ali Syed as the prime culprit while Khalid Shamim and Moazzam Ali have been named as facilitators.
On the occasion, the court also rejected the bail plea of all three accused in the case including Muazzam Ali, Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim. The court further directed the FIA to complete the challan as soon as possible.
Suspects’ confessional statements, statements of travel agents and travel history of the accused were also included in the challan.
Before this, six challans have been returned by the court.
Farooq, 50, a founding member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) party, was stabbed and beaten to death in Edgware, northwest London in September 2010.
