The actor has managed to reach new heights of stardom with his stellar performance in the movie where in he essayed the role of a gay man.
Considering the box-office success of Kapoor and Sons, director Karan Johar has reportedly decided to increase the screen time for Fawad’s role in his next, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
“Fawad has become a star after Kapoor & Sons. His role, which was more of an extended guest appearance in ADHM has been altered,” a source close to the production told Bollywood Life.
“Now, it won’t just be a cameo, it’s almost as much as Salman’s role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. So, Fawad will be seen in a supporting role, not a cameo, even in the film credits,” the source added.
The source disclosed the reason for this change as well. “Fawad and Karan are extremely close friends now and besides, Fawad is a big draw across the border and in the Middle East. He is a big draw in certain overseas markets, so through him, ADHM will reach a bigger audience,” the source was quoted as saying.
The Khoobsurat actor was earlier reported to do a cameo appearance as a DJ in the film that stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in key roles.
“I have shot some of my portions already for the film. Now, I have a few more days of shooting left on the film,” Fawad had told Bollywood Life earlier.
Apart from Fawad, another Pakistani actor, Imran Abbas is set to make a cameo appearance in ADHM.
Rumours are also abuzz that Fawad is in talks with KJo for his third film — a romcom starring him in the lead.
No doubt, Fawad is taking Bollywood by storm.
