ISLAMABAD: India has not yet granted visas to the Pakistan team which is to participate in the South Asian Futsal Championship scheduled to be played there from May 3.
According to Malik Adnan, Secretary, Pakistan Futsal Federation (PFF), Pakistan won the championship last year in Nepal. “How can India stop us to participate in the championship in which we are defending the title,” he said.
He said this is total discrimination on part of India as they should “show some sportsman spirit and grant us the visas so that we can timely participate in the championship”..
Besides Pakistan, teams of Sri Lanka, Maldives, India Red and India Blue will be participating in the event.
He said the championship would continue till May 6 and will be played on league system. According to the draws of the championship, Pakistan will play its first and second match against Maldives and Sri Lanka on May 5 followed by two matches on May 6 against India Red and India Blue.
