ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Wednesday condemned what it terms ‘baseless allegations’ of International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The cabinet, under the chairmanship of Nawaz Sharif, noted that the ICIJ termed ‘allegations as editing error’.
The meeting demanded of the ICIJ to take immediate action against those responsible for this lapse.
While expressing full confidence in the leadership of the premier, the cabinet also appreciated Nawaz Sharif for presenting himself and his family for accountability.
The cabinet resolved that the ruling party PML-N and people of Pakistan would not allow anyone to sabotage the journey on path of progress.
Nawaz told the participants that handful of political opponents are trying to sabotage progress of the country.
He said such elements are perturbed over ongoing developmental projects initiated by the government.
The prime minister claimed the government will overcome energy and gas crisis during its tenure, adding international institutions are acknowledging economic turnaround of Pakistan’s economy.-APP
